REVIEW: Nite Ize HandleBand

by: Sarah Blessington

EENiteIzeHandleband 1MSRP: $19.99 (BUY NOW For Less!)

SIZE: Phone Grip- 2.3” x 0.4” to 3.6” x 0.8”, Bar Grip- 0.9″ to 2″

WEIGHT: 2.9oz

MATERIALS: Silicone, Aluminum

EENiteIzeHandleband 2The HandleBand’s purpose is simple; to attach your smart phone to your handlebars, and it does so with very little effort. With the strong, yet stretchy silicone, it makes quick work of securing your phone, without the need to even double check its security. There are no add-ons needed to use this gadget, so as long as your phone, in or out of its case, roughly fits the dimensions listed above, it will work. This is one of those products that just does exactly what it needs to do. It boasts little fan fare, other than the aluminum hook also acting as a bottle opener, and I can say that has also come in quite handy.

EENiteIzeHandleband 3 EENiteIzeHandleband 4When not in use, the HandleBand is easily removed, or you can simply reattach the strap and leave it in place, without worrying about it flapping round. After five months of constant action, the HandleBand shows no sign of wear. It either lives on the handlebars of my bike, or my Honda Metropolitan scooter, which means it is exposed to the sunshine and salty Hawaiian air 100% of its life. I call that impressive!

EENiteIzeHandleband 5 EENiteIzeHandleband 6With this gadget I am able to track my work out on my bike without needing to “wear” my phone. The straps do cover a portion of the screen, however I have yet to have my phone eject itself out of the HandleBand’s clutches, even after having an unfortunate run-in with a lava rock. For $20 and offering impressive versatility, this is a no brainer for my needs.

EENiteIzeHandleband 7 EENiteIzeHandleband 8Nite Ize’s HandleBand is a clean design, well built and requires little fuss. I didn’t realize how useful this gadget would be navigating a new city and trails, but I am constantly grateful for its existence.
