The LED Lenser X21R is a serious flashlight for serious jobs, or just having a lot of fun with a REALLY bright light! It really is a brilliant piece of lighting technology that can handle the abuses it might find in an overland vehicle, cop car or tank for that matter. If you’re looking for a flashlight that is probably brighter than your vehicle headlights and doubles as a lightsaber, look no further than the X21R.

LED Lenser’s Advanced Focus System really makes their lights shine 😉 All puns aside, being able to focus the beam from full flood to full spot by just sliding the bezel away from you is pretty awesome. The X21R has a huge focus ring that allows you to adjust the beam super easily while on the move. A great example of where this feature might come in handy is if you were to hear an odd noise at night around camp and need to find it quickly, you can use the flood light to locate the sound and then use the spot light to point it out to others without ever taking your eyes of your subject. If the noise turns out to be the mythical Yeti, the spot light also ensures you get a quality crisp photo of the elusive creature. Blurry low light night shots just won’t do!

Advanced Smart Light Technology allows the light to be programmed, using a sequence of button touches, into different modes depending on your usage. This feature really optimizes the light output and feature set for your particular use at that time. I found that I left the light in the Constant Current Professional mode most of the time, as it offers the brightest light and largest range of light output styles. I really only use the X21R when I want a LOT of light! The defense strobe feature is also a lot of fun around camp with your friends 😉

LED Lenser recommends the X21R for emergency, military and outdoor uses. In the end this is a POWERFUL light to have in your arsenal for all sorts of uses. While the price tag isn’t cheap, I think you’ll be hard pressed to find a better value in this category of flashlight than the feature rich X21R.The X21R comes with everything you could possibly need. You can mount it on the wall on the recharging dock, carry it over your shoulder with the shoulder strap or even mount it to a tripod with the included tripod mount. All the little things have been thought about with this flashlight, like the included anti-roll rings at each end of the light. They not only allow you to set the flashlight down without it rolling away, but also offer replaceable plastic protection against drops at both ends of the light. Here you can see the size comparison to the M7R that I reviewed HERE: I was so excited to see what this flashlight could do as soon as I got it. The first thing I did was open up the package, put in the huge rechargeable battery and turn on the light. It was pointed at a normal white 8′ ceiling and the reflection was so strong that I hit the floor completely blinded! This thing is BRIGHT!!!
While this flashlight is BIG and not light, it fits in the hand nicely and feel manageable. Full Flood Full Spot This flashlight is great for signaling planes, creating your own bat signal or using as a lighsaber 😉
