SNAPSHOT: Grand Escalante & Zion

September 2, 2014 By Bryon Dorr 1 Comment

Glen Canyon Dam is HUGE!

In June, we made the pilgrimage from the CKS Paddlefest in Buena Vista, CO to Las Vegas. Along the way we figured we would check out two areas that we’d both driven around many times, but never had the chance to stop and check out. A lot of highway, dirt roads and spectacular natural and man-made wonders where found along the way. Enjoy this little photo essay of the trip focusing on the Grand Escalante and Zion NP areas.

This shot probably took like 40 frames to capture, but I was determined to get the shot! Had to manage it handheld.

Natures beauty comes in all sizes and shapes.
EscalanteZion2014 23
Only had time for one little side hike from the bus ride deep into Zion. Sarah was pretty stoked on the Weeping Rock.

The rocks change color as the sun shifts in the sky.
