SEMA NEWS: 2012 Hot Street Rides

There was so much automotive bling at SEMA this year I was drooling on some expensive rides! The following are the highlights of the show for me for on road vehicles, tune in soon for full off-road coverage goodness. I know this is not overland or adventure sports related, but I’m a car guy at heart and I know many overlanders and adventure sports enthusiasts hope to one day have one of these sweet “toys” in their garage as well:)

What is your favorite street ride from SEMA 2012?

This is my favorite car of the entire show. It is called the “Mach Forty” and was built by Eckert’s Rod & Custom.
The “Mach Forty” is roughly built off a ’69 Mach 1 Mustang with a ’06 Ford GT drive line. It has adjustable horsepower from 600-850 and uses C6 Corvette suspension parts. Much of the body was hand formed. Such an amazing project!
One of my favorites from the show. Suicide doors, full air bag system, super clean interior and a very cool custom paint job. This project has taken the owner 10 yrs to complete.
Factory Five Racing new value sports car Project 818. You can build this thing for under $15K! Think 1,800 lbs, mid-engine and rear wheel drive.
The “Revolver” truck from Magnaflow. The idea with this build was to be able to let customers hear what different exhaust systems sound like, all from one vehicle. Very cool execution on a slick little truck.
Trans AM Depot and many others have brought Pontiac back, kinda. Body kits for the new Camaro.
Hennessey Perfomance 2013 Venom Spyder GT. 1,244 hp of midengine rear drive amazing! If I could drive any car at SEMA this would probably be it.
Hod rod roadster combined with racing accents. I like it!
Mercedes SLR racing awesome with a side of hot booth babe from Kenda.
I found THE sleeper at SEMA. Mechatronik puts AMG V12s into fully restored classic Mercs. COOL!
Acura “NSX” concept car from the Avengers Movie. They put a SEMA show sticker price on it of $9,198,000!
Stunningly beautiful Lexus LF-CC.
All the wheel companies like the high end flashy bling cars. Can’t believe the price these wheels go for!!! Giovanna
I love Ferrari! The 458 Italia is gorgeous, and I really like the racing version as well:)
H&R built this 500 hp Super Beatle. The Matte Blue paint was quite nice.
Barrett-Jackson brought this stunning ’56 Ford F100.
Custom everything and everything done JUST right.
Clean and simple interior done right.

M Power to the extreme. I’d love to own this car!
Tiny and clean amongst big and bling.
Beautiful AC GT Zegato. Chassis will run you just over $100K and you can get a complete car for about $150K.
RK Concepts insane motorcycles. Custom build everything. This one is based on ball bearings, check out the detail!
Custom Mac Truck “Old Time Tanker Beer.” This thing is ready to party!
