PandanaReview 2 PandanaReview 3When I first came across these soft, colorful tubes of fabric, I immediately had Billy Maze’s voice thundering in my ears telling me to stop whatever else I was doing, and buy 80 of these, or else my life here on earth would be a sham, not a wow. There accompanied these words an image sequence of Billy giving a dashing fashion show… But I’ll leave that to your imagination. What I will tell you about is the magic these cutie patooties have sprinkled on my life.

PandanaReview 7How the Pandana compliments Overlanding:

Tales from the road usually include long grueling distances, vast miraculous expanses, and epic spells of laughter. What they usually leave out is the time between REAL showers. There may be a few tools in the overlanding toolbox to stretch out a luscious lathering of shampoo, but there’s only so much you can do when grease is throwing a lawn party on your scalp. The option to just ‘put a hat on it’ can become overplayed and depressing to your jubilant moral. The Pandana gives you an out, back into the world of the fashionably living.

How is this so, you ask? You simply fold or scrunch the fabric into a headband to cover the ‘affected area’. From there you can let your hair flow freely behind you, or wrap up that pesky dreadlock for a later attack. I also just find the Pandana to be attractive even when my hair IS cooperating. Who doesn’t want a masked panda on their head?!

PandanaReview 5How the Pandana fits into your active lifestyle:

My first application of this stretchy cylinder was in the world of snow. For the days above sub-zero temps, this thin protective shield adds an attractive functional flair. You can cover your face, or add some extra warmth around your neck. Then, for those joyous spring flurries, I love using these as an adjustable headband. I’m able to keep the bulk over my ears, but pull a bit of the fabric down to cover my forehead to help with sun and windburn.

Off the snow and onto the pavement with my sneakers, the Pandana gets a VIP invitation to my workout wardrobe. These things hold the sweat in check, and keep the fashion alive without going back to the 80’s era jazzercising sweatband.

And for those of us of the frizzier hair persuasion, after ANY workout (or run-in with humidity), just pull on one of these bad boys and you can enjoy your apre-anything knowing you look amazing.

PandanaReview 6Pandana fun facts:

When you wear your Pandana folded, just once to double the fabric or just double up, they offer sun protection of UPF 50+. This is great news for this pale day-walker, aka the “Ginga Ninja.” For skiing or running in the cold months, it’s easy to protect my skin even when I forget sunscreen.

Have an event coming up and want to be remembered? You can customize your logo onto a Pandana and give everyone something they WANT! Check out their custom orders page HERE.

PandanaReview 4Care for your Pandana:

These cute little things require little effort to keep them fresh and so clean. The recommendation here is to machine wash cold (or a brisk swishing in a sink), then hang to dry. When you put them in the dryer, you diminish their longevity (heat plus delicates is a no-go). Otherwise, these awesomely thin and soft fibers will keep their luster and plush through active use.
