For big days of adventure you can really load this bag up with all your personal, hydration and photography gear needs.

The Lowepro Photo Sport 200 AW has served me well for well over 2 years now. This photo backpack is really ready for anything you can throw at it, and seems to be about the perfect size for light and fast missions. I’ve used it on hiking, trail running, cycling, snowboarding/skiing, rock climbing, international travel, off-road driving and so many other photo missions around the globe. Its crazy versatility lends itself well to most event photography, as I’ve used it at everything from trade shows, like Outdoor Retailer and SEMA, to adventure events like the Vail Mtn Games, Overland Expo and everything in between. It’s also a great day pack that allows you to carry plenty of water, some snacks, a jacket and a full photography kit; 1 DSLR body, 2-3 lenses, filters, extra battery, extra memory cards, tripod and more.

The padded back pad is crazy comfortable and helps keep airflow against your back. The sternum and waist straps help you travel fast with heavy loads.

The waist band pockets come in handy to keep all those little camera accessories close at hand.

The all weather cover keeps off the elements and stows neatly into the bottom of the pack.

The bag is designed for athletes and provides quick side access of your camera, is hydration bladder compatible, has a crazy comfortable back pad, is really light weight and can hold up to years of abuse. The camera compartment is well padded to protect all your gear and has a cinch system that keeps everything from bouncing around when you’re on the go. The built-in all weather cover stows neatly into the bottom of the pack and provides an extra layer of protection from the elements for your gear. Besides all these quality main features of the bag it also incorporates all kinds of little things that make it rise above its competitors; like a whistle built into the sternum strap buckle, reflective piping throughout, useful little waist band pockets and so much more.

Such a comfortable pack! (PHOTO: Katie Boue)

PROS:

Lightweight and comfortable.

Feature rich, which provides a ton of gear carrying versatility.

Extremely durable.

CONS:

Carries a limited volume of photography equipment.

Does not carry large zoom lenses well.

Holds just the right amount of gear for fast and light missions, like this bouldering mission near Red Rocks, NV. (PHOTO: Katie Boue)

TIPS:

The hydration reservoir area fits a MacBook Pro laptop really well, when a hydration bladder is not in place.

The webbing strap on the outside front of the pack works great to transport a DeLorme inReach.

The bottom line is that the Lowepro Photo Sport 200 AW is a phenomenal all around photo back pack that is well suited for photographers that need to be light and nimble in order to get the shot. If you like to capture your adventures through photography this pack is ready to help you capture the action.
