UP CLOSE: Overland Expo 2014

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 1 — The lines on the GWagon are oh soooo sexy!

I gave you a good overall feel for the awesome that was Overland Expo 2014 HERE. Now its time to check out all those little details that are so easily overlooked at a massive event like this. Everything from the classic lines of the GWagon to the bling under the hoods of some spectacular adventuremobile.

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 2 — This would be a scary sight in your rearview mirror!

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 3 — New modular bumper system for the Ford Super Duty from ARB, and a new Safari Snorkel as well.

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 4 — Love what Pronghorn Overland is doing with their modular bumper systems. Love the look on the JK, but the new Tacoma bumper lines haven’t grown on me yet.

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 5 — Earth Cruiser seem to be well sorted out in all ways.

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 6 — Jonathan Hanson’s FJ40 Land Cruiser is such a classically awesome machine.

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 7 — I really like the muscular, yet OEM look, of the AEV Ram Concept.

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 8 — Love little functional details on rigs like the integrated step to get into the cab on the Butler Maps Pinz.

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 9 — The rear bumper of an Earth Roamer has a LOT going on!!!

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 10 — Yep, Cummins Diesel powered Jeep 🙂

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 11 — Doesn’t get much more bling than a supercharged Hemi under the hood of an AEV Jeep JK.

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 12 — The Toyota diesel under the hood of Lost World Expedition‘s 60 Series Land Cruiser has been places I only dream about.

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 13 — Overland The World‘s Lexus LX450 has been heavily modded throughout.

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 14 — I’m pretty sure Overland The World also uses Land Cruiser forums to get info to sort out their rig properly 😉

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 15 — Expedition Overland is well sponsored and truly invested in the overland world.

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 16 — I adore Bruce Dorn’s Ford pickup. Watch out for those snakes! 😉

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 17 — Not sure how offroad or overland this lift and wheel setup is on Hallmark‘s show camper this year, but it is bling!

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 32 — The Front Runner table fits in that dead space below your roof rack. A very good use of space!

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 34 — Rhino Rack makes a really cool system for the Jeep JK that ties the roof rack into the frame of the truck, not just to the removable hardtop. A much more solid system than many competitors.

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 35 — Adventure Trio like to have all the essential gear on their BMW GS’s.

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 36 — Adventure Trio also like to cook good bacon on their moto!

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 37 — Moto-Skiveez has padded underwear for all moto riding styles. These are basically cycling underwear with specifically tailored designs for the different riding positions on motos.

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 38 — I love the hi tech outdoor gear look and feel of the Mosko Moto bags.

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 39 — 2wd motos are just cool! Love the engineering to make things like this happen 🙂

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 40 — Local Motors brought this custom chopper, and I caught the light just right as the logoed pop up tent above the bike reflected off the polished gas cap.

OverlandExpo2014UpClose 41 — Overland Now wants you to remember to Do Good As You Go, no matter the way you decide to travel the globe.
