HydrapakStashBottle 1Water bottles seem to be one of those things that you just collect indefinitely. Each one of them has that special quirk that brings you close to the edge of tossing it, but a fond memory or feature brings you back. It leaks! But, oh, it has this clipy thing on the lid that I could maybe use that one time for that thing, and it only leaks when it’s on its side! (This may or may not be a true story). Overall I feel that there are two superior categories of water bottles, there are the ones that actually keep your beverage cold, and there are those that accommodate a physical activity. Some do these things well, others terribly.

I bring you the Stash Bottle from Hydrapak. This handy little bugger is perfectly what it is; a non-leaking, collapsible, active water bottle. Using RF (Radio Frequency) Welding, they have bonded the materials of the water bottle together at the molecular level, making the only leaking point potential, the spout, when you open it. I have yet to have any leaking from the cap, so that makes me happy.

HydrapakStashBottle 4The water bottle itself is super lightweight. This plays well for unnoticeably stuffing it in a bag for later use when empty. Also, as you consume your water, you also consume the added weight and shape giving you some flexibility. The insulation properties are little, but with the saved weight and space, it becomes the perfect bottle for travel, hiking, and camping.

The nifty ‘twist to collapse’ feature, helps protect the film body from any unnecessary scuffs, scrapes or sharp objects, as well as making it super easy to store. You can check out the ‘How To’ video HERE.

HydrapakStashBottle 3If you notice the ‘mirrored’ shape of the screw cap on the bottom of the bottle, there is a well and good reason for that. Hydrapak has also included a stackable feature in their bottles for a custom snap-fit with another Stash Bottle.

HydrapakStashBottle 6When drinking from the Stash Bottle, I recommend securing your grip around the plastic top, to give yourself better control of the approaching water. While you can grip to your heart’s content on the film body while it’s closed, you’ll be giving yourself something of a shower if it’s open.

Pros: takes up little space when not in use, super lightweight, wide mouth for easy fill access

Cons: doesn’t ‘force’ into pockets/sleeves very well, not insulated
