SteadePodReview 1The SteadePod is a small photographer/videographer tool that helps achieve smooth and stable shots without lugging around a tripod. While not a replacement in many cases for a tripod, GorillaPod, monopod or similar, it is a great lightweight alternative that is quick and easy to use. The idea is that you can tether your camera to your body and use outward pressure on the camera, which creates line tension, to remove most hand shake and allow for smooth panning video or steady longer exposure or high zoom “handheld” photos. The end piece on the cable allows for easy attachment to shoe laces, belt loops or even the super simple trick of just standing on it. It works great for small and big cameras alike, and even works great with POV cameras like the GoPro when used with a tripod mount. The SteadePod also swivels allowing for on the fly quick landscape or portrait camera orientation. SteadePodReview 2This is a great gadget for every traveler, overlander and adventure photographer to have in their photographers toolkit. It easily fits in a pocket and is there when you need it, especially during those times when lugging a tripod around just isn’t an option. The SteadePod has become a fixture in my camera bag and accompanied me on many adventures. The unit is affordable, light weight, durable and works as advertised. It even comes with a lifetime warranty! SteadePodReview 3

SteadePodReview 4A huge shout out to my friend Katie over at TheMorningFresh.com for helping me get these photos, by both taking some of them and letting me use her camera for demonstration purposes. Be sure to check out her awesome overland and rock climbing adventures.
