REVIEW: Adventure Underwear- Protect Your Goods

July 23, 2013 By Bryon Dorr 6 Comments

Ever since a girlfriend gave me technical boxers as a gift many years ago I’ve never gone back to wearing cotton underwear. It’s hard to look back when you can have comfortable, durable, breathable, quick drying and odor resistant underwear. Even though they cost LOTS more than your typical cotton underwear, like 300%+ more, they are worth every penny. Check out my full technical boxer review HERE. This review offers another high quality underwear option, with sweet travel specific features.

I’m usually a boxer guy, but recently got the chance to check out a preproduction sample of some new merino wool travel underwear out of Australia, called Adventure Underwear. They are in between briefs and boxer briefs in style. I have to admit that they are super comfortable and great for physical adventure activities. The concept behind this underwear is to offer the most comfortable & stylish underwear out there while keeping your valuables safe when traveling. The main feature that separates this underwear from others is the 2 interior front pockets; one for things like cash, credit card and id and a second larger pocket that is waterproof and removable for important documents and your passport. The only real negative is that the waterproof pocket doesn’t breath and can create a hot spot on your leg. On the flip side, your important documents are secure even if you decided to take a swim. I highly doubt that a pickpocket would be able to snag anything out of these pockets!

If Adventure Underwear is able to secure enough funding through their Kickstarter campaign they will also be launching a travel women’s underwear line in short order.

Basically Adventure Underwear offers you a super comfortable, temperature regulating, durable pair of underwear with essentially a built-in travel money belt. I look forward to wearing these on my next adventure abroad in order to not stress about my valuables and just be able to enjoy my surroundings. Travel and new expereinces are what fuel my life.

If your more of a boxer person be sure to check out the ScottEVest travel boxers that I reviewed HERE. While you don’t get the natural merino wool fabric or the waterproof pocket, you do get comfortable technical underwear with security travel pockets.

(Disclaimer: All photos were supplied by Adventure Underwear. The review samples I received were pre production and not accurate to the final product, hence I did not want to share photos of the samples. I also receive no compensation from this review, just the free pair of sample underwear.)
