SNAPSHOT: Couch Off Road Engineering

April 6, 2016 By Bryon Dorr Leave a Comment

ExploringElementsCouch-1Unimog nirvana can be found in Denver, CO, at Couch Off Road Engineering! Couch specializes in parts and builds for Mercedes Unimog and G-Wagon vehicles. They do everything from restorations to full custom builds, which will truly blow your mind. The company founder, Jay Couch, is a Mog expert, having used them around the globe in both industrial applications and recreational ones. I got the opportunity to get a private tour of his Denver facility this past summer, which caused my brain to melt down with Mog overload. You couldn’t look or move in any direction without bumping into custom and unique vehicles and parts, in various states of completion. Since my visit, much of the Couch operation has moved to a new facility, out by the Denver airport, which offers an off-road proving track, training area and bigger shop and storage spaces. I can’t wait to get the opportunity to check out this new facility and, fingers crossed, get the opportunity to put one of these amazing machines to the test. Check out the photos below for a quick visual journey through America’s Unimog utopia, Couch Off Road Engineering.ExploringElementsCouch-2Bam Bam is a Cummins powered racing mog that Couch built for the arduous Breslau Rally. I was lucky enough to get a ride in this incredible machine on the off-road course at Overland Expo a few years ago.

A small taste of the amazing Bruslau Rally, which Couch was the first American to race in.

A HUGE thanks to Jay Couch for the facility tour, and for creating lust worthy adventuremobile here in America.
