SEMA NEWS: UJOR V4- The Adventure Van of Your Dreams

November 2, 2012 By Bryon Dorr 27 Comments

Take an E-Series Ford van cutaway, add a rock solid U-Joint 4×4 system, build a custom aluminum flatbed and then put one of the most innovative pop-up campers in the world by XPCamper on the back and you have the UJOR V4 in a nutshell. This expedition ready vehicle is ready to be built to your needs as a turn-key package by the good people at U-Joint Offroad for around $135,000, depending on your specific custom needs. They are excited to deput at the 2012 SEMA Show and the response has alredy been HUGE. They even got the nod as one of the “Top TEN Weirdest and Wildest Custom Cars of SEMA 2012” by Motor Trend. If you’ve been dreaming of the ultimate offroad camper for your next expedition or weekend trip into the outdoors U-Joint Offroad and XPCamper have just made your dreams come true.

The vented hood keeps the big 7.3L Diesel cool. Helping the rig achieve it’s remarkable 17 mpg. The front aluminium bumper is the UJoint production unit designed to hold the Warn 16.5ti winch and only weighs in at 37lbs!
This little gadget called the sPOD allows all the accessories to be run into one wire loom, making for a much easier and cleaner job of running cables into the cab.
A key feature of the aluminum flatbed is the HUGE amount of storage that it offers. Luckily UJoint Chris is not always scaring the children from the other side;) The area between the cab and camper is also utilized as a double spare tire carrier.
The entire flatbed is built on a pivot in order to keep the camper happy when the truck is twisting over rough terrain.
UJoint worked with Rigid Industries to develop this custom rear led light bar that offers; running, reverse, stop & turn lights in one unit.
The rear suspension has helper air bags to help deal with the added camper weight.
The inside of the XPCamper is quite well thought out and very roomy.
Every nook and cranny is utilized in the XPCamper. The under bed storage has a TON of available space.
You get all the comforts of home with the XPCamper; stove top, microwave and fridge. All diesel appliances are utilized making this vehicle a single fuel rig.
The rear area of the XPCamper has a great lounge/dining area that can be converted into a bed as well.
The shower/toilet system folds out of a small area just inside the door and offers tons of counter space when collapsed.
